On Sunday, Feb. 23, former Great Crossing High School standout Nani Valencia’s current college team, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, won 5-4 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Long Beach State Beach.

The game took place at Big League Dreams Sports Park. This was their first matchup against the Beach this season.

The Golden Gophers’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28 at 4:30 p.m. at U.S. Bank Stadium against North Dakota State Bison.
