Trending This Week on Instagram: Beautiful Boho Bathrooms

Forget that hospital-bathroom look—this season, designers are falling in love with the look of wooden accents in a bathroom, and this post by @designplusmag makes it easy to see why.

“I love wood accents all over the home, because they bring warmth, comfort and life to even the most minimalistic space,” says Helena Brana, founder of Brana Designs. “Bathrooms especially need warm elements, and wood accents are perfect for that.”

However you choose to incorporate wood elements in your bathroom, make sure they can weather the humidity. Pick products sealed against water, like these wood-effect tiles from Topps Tiles, or one of these stunning wooden vanities from Signature Hardware.

“Industrial lights are a great pairing with your bathroom, because it provides a modern and unique feel,” says Brett Elron, owner and lead interior designer for BarterDesign.co. He says he prefers the extreme simplicity of industrial pendant lights, hanging by a wire like the ones in the Instagram post above, "because it provides a great, relaxing mood in your bathroom.”

We just love a good wall niche, and your bathroom is one of the best places to have one. Not only are they a great storage solution for small spaces, but they also offer a certain nostalgia for the Victorian wall niches of old—as you can see in this repost from @hippie.tribe, originally posted by @thejungalow.

“A wall niche is a great way to not only save space but also break up a wall's design,” says Neil Partridge of NGI Design. “A niche in a wall can house anything—including plants, shampoo, or even a mirror at the back, to open up the space. And if, like in the image, you want to use a contrasting pattern for the backdrop of your wall niche, it makes for a great opportunity to express creativity and add a depth to the wall that wouldn't otherwise exist.”

Nothing will warm up your bathroom quite like a Persian rug. Just look at this repost by @liketoknow.it.home, originally from @lifeoncedarlane.

“When you think of a rug in the bathroom, you might immediately think of a fuzzy bathmat, but that doesn't have to be the case,” Elron says. “By placing a Persian rug in your bathroom, you introduce a sense of color and grandeur to your bathroom, which will help prevent it from feeling bland or overly sterile.”
