GOVERNMENT STRATEGIES: Officials say Iroquois High School principal struck in face by girl during student riot

Skul

Government strategies issued the following announcement on Oct.17.

The principal of Louisville's Iroquois High School was struck in the face Thursday afternoon in what was originally called in to police as a student riot.

Six girls were fighting on the second floor around 2 p.m. Thursday, said Jefferson County Sheriff's Office spokesman Carl Yates.

When the principal went to break it up, he was struck in the face by one of the girls, according to Yates.

Parents of the girl who struck the principal were called but it hasn't been decided yet if charges will be filed or if the girl will be cited and released to her parents.

Yates said a similar incident happened last week, when a principal was struck in the face by a girl and a third-degree assault charge was filed.
