Breckinridge County ranked 65th in state for resident earnings in 2017

Breckinridge County ranked 65th among counties in Kentucky by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Breckinridge County residents was an inflation-adjusted $21,234 per year. Breckinridge County had 7,467 households in 2017, with a population of 19,991.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Oldham County. Oldham County's median income was $36,618 per year after adjusting for inflation – $15,384 more than Breckinridge County. It had 20,465 households in 2017 and a population of 64,633.

McCreary County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Kentucky, with a median income of only $12,116 per year. That was $9,118 less than the median income in Breckinridge County at the time. McCreary County had 6,332 households in 2017 and a population of 17,748.
