72 percent of applicants to Kentucky State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Kentucky State University, 80 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Frankfort enrolled 1,778 students in fall 2018, including 1,663 in undergraduate and 115 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

48 percent of undergraduates are residents of Kentucky, and 52 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (46 percent) and white (14 percent).

The school admitted 72 percent of the 1,660 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 23 percent enrolled.
